Not only does Chatham Perk offer the full spectrum of coffee drinks—from espresso to flavored iced coffees—but they also have savory sandwiches named after various locales to please every palate. “Our most popular sandwich has been the Monomoy Island,” says owner Catherine Martin, who opened the shop in 2014. The Monomoy [pictured above] features roast turkey, homemade stuffing and Vermont cheddar. Martin says she made a list of all her favorite places in Chatham, naming her sandwiches from there. Another customer favorite—the Strong Island Panini with bacon, Vermont cheddar, thinly sliced green apple and beach plum jelly on ciabatta bread.
Both sandwiches are also available on the catering menu, which features specialty sandwich platters, breakfast platters, even brownie platters. The catering menu is available on the website.
Her most popular coffee? “By far, the coconut iced coffee,” says Martin. She adds that the Perk Donut is another favorite: a nutmeg donut rolled in butter, cinnamon and sugar.
Perk’s menu will be expanding in 2017 to offer fresh juices and smoothies, as well as gluten-free items. –Marina Davalos
